What is Avana tablet used for?

Avana tablet contains avanafil as the active constituent which is a type 5 PDE or phosphodiesterase type 5 inhibitor. It is an oral medication prescribed for men who are facing erection problems i.e. weakness or shortcoming in obtaining or reaching an erection. Like other PDE type 5 inhibitors, avanafil has a great effect on relaxing the muscles and dilating blood vessels resulting in an increase in the blood flow going to the penis. Erection occurs during sexual stimulations when the flow of the blood to the penis increases. Usually, once the brain senses sexual arousal it sends impulses to the nerve cells around the penis. Next, the arteries relax while the veins tighten pumping an increased amount of blood to the relaxed arteries causing the penis to expands in size. This is when the erection is created. Avana helps men who are facing a problem achieving and maintaining an erection as in Erectile Dysfunctions (ED). Erectile Dysfunction is the incapability of reaching or keeping an erection firm enough to be able to have sex. It is also referred to as Impotence or Erectile Malfunction.

The cause of male sexual arousal is a complicated process including the brain, nerves, hormones, blood vessels, emotions, and muscles. Avanafil relaxes the smooth muscle in the prostate and the bladder allowing the penis to get constant blood flow which helps to keep an erection. So having this very active constituent in the Avana tablet makes it a very effective drug that helps men with impotence.

Dosage

The initial dose of Avanafil is 100 mg taken orally with or without food approximately 30-60 minutes prior to sexual activity since it takes almost an hour to be absorbed and start doing its functions.
Then the maintenance dose of Avana Tablet is 50-200 mg taken orally with or without food when needed also 30-60 minutes prior to sexual activity.
The maximum dose of the Avana Tablet should not exceed 200 mg once daily taken orally with or without food. Avana Tablet will not work as a sexual stimulation to the stimulation is needed for the tablet to start working.

Common (Mild) Side Effects:

There are some common side effects that a man can encounter after taking Avana Tablet.
1) You can get a minor headache.
2) You can have a flushing feeling (redness, tingly feeling or the feeling of warmth in your skin).
3) You can encounter some cold-like symptoms like stuffy or a runny nose, or a sore throat.
4) You can also have a back pain.

Serious (Severe) Side Effects:

If you encounter any of these severe side effects, it is very important that you seek medical emergency help or head straight to the closest hospital.
1) If you feel dizzy and you have blurry vision.
2) If you have swelling or difficulty in breathing.
3) If you have hives and itching.
4) If you lost vision in one or both eyes or you suddenly have hearing changes.
5) If you encountered shortness or difficulty in breathing.
6) If you have redness or pain in the legs.

What should I avoid while Avana?

• Drinking more than 3 alcoholic beverages can decrease the efficiency of the medicine as well as increase the side effects of Avana Tablet.
• Avoid eating or drinking grapefruit products or any grapefruit-infused beverages as it can increase the unwanted side effects of this medicine.
